An Inconvenient Truth: Trump’s So-Called #MuslimBan Protects Women And LGBTQ Community

President Trump’s 90-day moratorium suspending immigration from terror-prone nations expressly protects women and LGBTQ community.

Although this weekend’s protesters have falsely dubbed President Trump’s 90-day moratorium suspending immigrants from seven terror-prone nations a “Muslim Ban,” the institutional Left—which includes the media—is conveniently leaving some important facts out of their protests and coverage.

First, the so-called #MuslimBan is temporary—a moratorium.

Second, it is not a ban on all Muslims. Rather, it is a suspension on the admittance of immigrants from only seven nations.

Lastly, here is a fact that seems to be purposely overlooked by the institutional Left and its allies in the media:

The Executive Order specifically provides protections from those who engage in “acts of bigotry or hatred” as well as persecution of persons with different religious beliefs, as well as women and the LGBTQ community.

Here is the relevant portion of President Trump’s Executive Order:

In order to protect Americans, the United States must ensure that those admitted to this country do not bear hostile attitudes toward it and its founding principles. The United States cannot, and should not, admit those who do not support the Constitution, or those who would place violent ideologies over American law. In addition, the United States should not admit those who engage in acts of bigotry or hatred (including “honor” killings, other forms of violence against women, or the persecution of those who practice religions different from their own) or those who would oppress Americans of any race, gender, or sexual orientation. [Emphasis added.]
